# Slack

> Connect Slack with an app configuration token or Add to Slack, and set the Slack-only card icon.

Slack uses the same shape as Telegram: paste a token in the terminal, or finish on a page.

```bash theme={null}
npx @agentinbox/cli channel add slack
```

On a terminal, paste an App Configuration Token (`xoxe.xoxp-…`), or open the setup page and click **Add to Slack**. Without a terminal, the CLI prints the page and waits up to 15 minutes:

```text theme={null}
https://www.agentinbox.md/connect?channel=slack#…
```

```bash theme={null}
npx @agentinbox/cli channel add slack --slack-config-token <token>
```

That flag skips the choice. Exit code `11` means the wait ran out. Run the command again. It resumes at the missing step.

> An agent forwards the URL. It does not ask you for the Slack token, and it does not paste one.

Add to Slack can require a workspace admin. The docs cannot grant that.

Invite someone else on Slack:

```bash theme={null}
npx @agentinbox/cli contact invite bob --via slack --async --name "Bob"
```

The link works for minutes, and Slack becomes their default channel.

`--icon` is Slack-only. Pass an MCP catalog id (`stripe`, `github`) or an https URL. Other channels ignore it. `--subtitle` and `--body` draw the card on Slack the same way they do elsewhere.
