# Create an inbox

> Run setup to create a keyless Agent Inbox, print its address, and optionally connect Telegram or Slack.

`setup` creates an inbox before you have an account. It asks for your first and last name and an email address, creates the agent, and prints its address.

```bash theme={null}
npx @agentinbox/cli setup
```

It then asks whether to connect Telegram or Slack. Press Enter to skip. Add a channel later with [`channel add`](/channels).

```bash theme={null}
npx @agentinbox/cli setup telegram
npx @agentinbox/cli setup slack
```

Email can receive as soon as setup finishes. The agent does not send email until you claim the setup. See [Email](/channels/email).

## Name the agent

```bash theme={null}
npx @agentinbox/cli setup telegram \
  --agent-name "Deploy bot" \
  --agent-description "Asks before it ships."
```

`--agent-picture` takes a JPEG or PNG of up to 2 MB. It needs [`login`](/account) first.

On a terminal, setup draws one screen and updates it in place. In a pipe, in CI, or when an agent runs the command, it prints the same steps as plain text.

## Run it again

Running `setup` again resumes whatever step is left. Without a terminal, pass the answers as flags:

```bash theme={null}
npx @agentinbox/cli setup \
  --name "Nikita Grossman" \
  --email you@example.com \
  --agent-name "Deploy bot"
```

`--telegram-bot-token` and `--slack-config-token` skip the prompt. An agent must not ask you for those tokens. Without a terminal it prints a page and waits. Forward that URL and let the person finish it. See [Telegram](/channels/telegram) and [Slack](/channels/slack).

## The skill

At the end of setup on a terminal, the CLI offers to install the coding-agent skill. `--skill` installs it. `--no-skill` skips it. See [Teach your coding agent](/skills).

## The keyless allowance

A keyless setup can send a small number of messages. When they are used, the next command exits `1` and prints:

```text theme={null}
You've used the 5 free messages of this keyless demo.
To keep your channels and continue, run: npx @agentinbox/cli login
```

The message also includes a sign-up link, and the same link is sent on your linked channel. Stop retrying. You run `login` yourself. An agent must not run it for you.

See [Account and claim](/account).
